A Paulino Family Tradition
Based out of UBEO's West Region, Mike Paulino and his family participate in the annual Alameda coat drive, collecting donations of new or gently used coats to support the national organization, One Warm Coat.
Since 2005, this cherished tradition reflects a deep commitment to helping neighbors in need. After a brief hiatus during the pandemic, the drive is back stronger than ever, continuing to make a meaningful impact in the lives of many.
Why We Give Back
“ Twenty years ago, my cousin worked in promotions for 98.1 Kiss FM and told us about a coat drive event they were hosting to support One Warm Coat. Antoinette and I learned about the organization and realized we could make a difference with just a little time and effort—and without asking people to spend money. We were hooked! In our first year, we collected about 100–200 coats from just our family. Now, 18 years later, the drive has grown to gather 1,000 to 3,000 coats every holiday season. It’s incredible to see how much of an impact this initiative has made over the years. ”
